I try to keep this blog fair, balanced, and ... well ... tolerable. Nobody wants to hear yet another parent boast about how amazing their kid is.

If you fall in that category, just ignore this post, because I'm about to violate that principle.

Kenzie just got her test scores back from Stanford kindergarten test, which is the standardized test that all the kids take. It's on a scale of 0 to 99, with the average child scoring a 50. She got a 99 (!) on three out of the six areas, including total reading, word reading, and sentence reading. Yes, that's our little reader. She did great on the other areas, with a 95 in battery and 89 in sounds/letters. Her lowest was math, at a 76. Cindy was ready to wage a math-a-thon to intervene when I reminded her that she's still in the upper quarter of all kids across the state and it's probably not time to panic just yet. But, I do think I see a stack of flash cards on the counter...
